Description:
The
lead carpenter is a craftsman with extensive skill and expertise, able to
completely manage their job site with multiple employees and trade
contractors. From the signing of the
contract to the final walkthrough, the lead carpenter is in complete
control of their project. They have absolute knowledge of
residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures,
techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality
control, cost control, safety and applicable building codes.
They are able to do layout, framing, and finishing of typical
projects, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and room additions. The lead carpenter possesses strong interpersonal and communication
skills so that they are able to clearly explain steps, provide clear
directions, and answer questions about construction processes to employees
and subcontractors, as well as interacting with homeowners.

The carpenter is a craftsman with
a skill and experience level greater than a
helper or laborer, but less than a lead carpenter. The carpenter will
generally have a smaller tool inventory and may need direction to perform
more advanced carpentry skills. They have
knowledge of
residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures,
techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality
control, cost control, and safety.
The carpenter is eager to master complex remodeling skills and is a dept at establishing relationships with all
parties involved in the construction process that facilitate harmonious
working relationships during the entire project.

The Qualified Applicant must have 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in
residential remodeling as a Sales Estimator
or Lead Carpenter. 5+ years of residential remodeling sales-estimating experience
is preferred, but will consider a very experienced Lead Carpenter with
sales ability. Reading
blueprints and writing a project Scope Of Work requires a high level of
knowledge of construction methods, materials, and product specifications.
BA/BS Degree or equivalent training preferred.
The
remodeling Sales Estimator has the overall responsibility of gathering and
presenting information that will allow the client to select the remodeling
services best needed to improve the comfort, function and value of their
home. The Sales Estimator demonstrates commitment to quality,
thoroughness and attention to detail in following through with clients and
their projects. This person is self-motivated and engaged in
continual learning and self-improvement and keeps up with design trends,
new products through professional reading,
trade organizations, and attending training seminars. This person generates leads through networking and client referrals as
well as calling on architectural firms, realtors and other sources of
referrals.
The
sales person will be expected to work forty hours a week, making sales
calls, prospecting customers, and assembling job packages and job cost
estimates.
Compensation
Compensation is commission-based. The company offers medical coverage and dental insurance, a SIMPLE
